hAPpY BiRThDaY, AvERy!!!

What happened? Last week I was staring at my brand new baby girl, and today I woke up and she was three! These last three years have been a riot with Avery. Her little personality has quickly blossomed, and we have enjoyed watching her come into her own.
Avery is the only girl amidst a sea of boys. She holds her own though. In fact, it could be said she rules the roosters around here! At her tender, young age, she knows what she wants, and she actively seeks it. We so enjoy Miss A! Her sweet spirit, quick smile and loving heart bring much love and happiness into our home.



10 Facts About Avery
1. Avery loves to color. She colors on everything! There are several walls in our house that are decorated with Avery's handiwork, but I can't bring myself to clean them up.
2. Miss A is ALL girl, but she can hold her own with the boys. She can oft be found dressed to the nines, sporting every accessory imaginable, climbing a tree and wielding a sword.
3. Avery thinks she is a very big girl. Several weeks ago, a lady asked her how old she was and she confidently replied "8". Slow down, Sister and enjoy three for a while.
4. Avery gets to attend a preschool swap with 6 other little girls. The Moms and I take turns teaching once a week. Avery loves, LOVES preschool! She wakes up each morning and asks if today is preschool day. She has a small princess 'pack-pack' that she totes around all of the time, and fills with potential show and tell items.
5. Besides coloring, Avery enjoys anything creative. She likes painting, play doh, sidewalk chalk, markers, and stickers. Given a play doh cup, she would be entertained for hours.
6. For a homework assignment this year, Landon had to memorize some of his personal information, including our phone number. I set our number to a little tune to help him remember it. Avery heard me working with Landon, and now sings our phone number every where and all the time. Anyone who wants to prank call us can easily obtain our number.
7. Avery loves nursery at church, and she adores her teacher "Mister" Olson. We have tried to get her to say "Sister Olson", but she insists it is "Mister".
8. Having three boys, I enjoy doing Avery's hair. She has always tolerated my obsession with bows and 'pretties' incredibly well. Recently, she discovered that she also likes to 'do' my hair. I have gained a renewed appreciation for the difficulties of sitting still while while getting your hair done. In fact, as I sit here and compose this post, Avery is putting multiple 'pretties' in my hair and has had to remind me several times not to be a 'wiggly waffle'.



9. Avery is quite independent. She likes to get her own drinks, she helps herself to her own snacks, she brushes her teeth with little help, she picks out her own clothes and dresses herself, and she would like to drive. This has, unfortunately gotten her into a bit of trouble. I am not looking forward to 16.
10. Avery is a wonderful sister. She especially loves her new role as a big sister to Sawyer. She brings me diapers, picks out Sawyer's clothes, offers him toys, and showers him with kisses galore. She is going to be a great mommy when she grows up!
