Christmas 2010

Christmas was simply wonderful and wonderfully simple this year. We spent the day opening presents, breaking them in, and enjoying one another's company. Aunt Jenny and Uncle Shawn were able to join us. We certainly missed those who were away, but they were here in spirit and we felt their love. Here are a few pictorial highlights from our day.

Here we see the loot--pre-wrapping paper explosion. Santa also got the kiddos a new swing set, but Mrs. Clause forgot to take a picture of it in all the excitement. We sent the kids on a scavenger hunt to find the swing set, and there was so much running, yelling and laughing, the camera was forgotten.

Sawyer got this push-a-long/ride-a-long toy, and it has been a huge hit! He has spent the majority of his days since, perched atop being pushed around by his big brothers and sister. At first, everyone fought over who got to push him next, but (to his great disappointment) they have recently grown weary of the task. Sawyer is so stinkin' cute when he wants a push, I find myself running around with him to make him happy. He is also really good at standing up with it and walking behind it--until he bumps into a wall. Then he stands and yells until someone helps him turn around.

Avery got a baby Princess Tiana from The Princess and the Frog. I think she is the cutest doll, ever. I just love her mini crown! Avery really enjoys playing "mommy", and has been taking very good care of her baby Tiana.

Tristan requested a Buzz Lightyear this year, and Santa threw in a Woody. These two toys have not left his side since. Woody and Buzz join us at the dinner table each evening, have a seat in the van when we go anywhere, and sleep with Tristan at night. He insists they talk to one another when he leaves the room, and I have heard him carrying on extensive conversations with them several times. Isn't childhood magical?

Landon favorite gift this year was this gigantic Nerf gun, complete with a scope. I scoured my pictures, but I didn't find one with him and his gun. He has spent a lot of time shooting inanimate objects with the accompanying whistling darts, and is learning not to shoot his brothers and sister--even if it elicits a rewarding response. This is a picture of "Mike" his Webkins snow leopard. He can go online and play with Mike in a virtual world.

The highlight of my Christmas was definitely this quilt from Will. That awesome guy took all the outfits our babies wore home from the hospital and other shirts that were meaningful to our family, and me as a mom particularly, and pieced them into a quilt for our king-size bed. He used our wedding colors as a palate, and it turned out beautifully. He has spent quite a few weekends over the past year toiling away with his aunt to assemble it. I will treasure it, always.

I don't have a picture of this either (I seriously dropped the photography ball!), but Will got airline tickets to go visit his family in Florida this May. It has been a while since he has been able to see them, and I know he is looking forward to catching up with them.

I thought I would include these shots in this post as well. I wasn't sure Sawyer would be "into" opening presents quite yet, but he was a champ. As soon as someone put something in front of him, he knew just what to do and went to town. We had a lot of fun watching him tear into his gifts.

Christmas 2010 certainly holds many happy memories for the Trezise family. We hope that your Christmas brought you just as much happiness. We are thankful for the birth, life and sacrifice of our Savior, for He is the reason for this magical season

will is the best! wow! that's what a gift is supposed to be... not that's i've ever done anything like that. j and i agreed not to exchange gifts this year... i must say that i liked getting nothing better than getting something i don't like or need. i hate to see hard earned money wasted.
