(This is a day late because I am a slacker-mom.)
How can this be??? My baby is already a year old! I have no idea where the past year went, but it was nothing short of wonderful. Sawyer Lewis Trezise has been a little piece of heaven right here in our home. Sawyer is a laid-back, little (and I do mean little!) man, who rarely gets upset-except when you mess with his food. His smile is quick to appear and his laugh bubbles over so incredibly easily. He has each and every member of this house wrapped around his little finger. We adore him and are so blessed to have him as a member of our forever family.
10 Facts About Sawyer
1. Just like all the Trezise kiddos, Sawyer has lots of nicknames. Uncle Shawn dubbed him "Sawdog" the day he was born, and that has stuck. We also call him Soybean, Zilla, Zilla Pet, Hammie, Hamalicious, Dogger, Hamster, Roto, Mana and Mister Mana. He answers to pretty much anything because he knows we are all always talking about him.
2. Like his big brother, Tristan, Sawyer is a great eater. He will eat almost anything, and he can almost out-eat his bigger siblings. Where he stores it is a mystery though, because he is not a very big little guy. At a year old, he still does not weigh enough to be out of the rear-facing infant car seat.
3. Sawyer has three teeth so far, and is working on number four as we speak. He has his two middle bottom chomps, his right vampire chomper and it's buddy across the way is about to break through. Needless to say, his grin is a little goofy.
4. Out of the four Trezise cubbies, Sawyer was the youngest to be weaned. Due to some gnawing issues, he was cut off at 10 1/2 months. He was a bit sad for a few days, but has since taken to the bottle with gusto. We are thinking of sending him to bottleholics anonymous. I am dreading the day we have to take the bottle away as well.
5. Sawyer loves his Uncle Shawn. They have been best-good buds since day one. Shawn is always willing to share the bounties of his plate, and being a foodie, this pleases Sawyer. Where Shawn is with food, Sawyer can always be found seeking a morsel or two.
6. Despite all of Sawyers fantastically good qualities, he does have one bad habit. "Roto" loves to play in the potty. He waits outside of either of the bathroom doors and makes a run for it if one of them should open for more than two seconds. He thinks it is great good fun to unroll the toilet paper, and his most favorite thing to do is get a brand new roll out from under the sink and toss the whole thing in as a offering to the porcelain throne.
7. Zilla loves the bath, but not the shower-unless he can take a shower with Dad, and then he likes the shower too.
8. Sawyer is really good at entertaining himself. He loves to get into the toy bins and will spend hours pulling out, examining and then tossing one toy at a time.
9. Unfortunately, Sawyer is a sick panda a lot more than anyone else in our house. We have had the hardest time keeping him well. Even when he is sick, he is still such a good baby. If we can make it through this cold and flu season, he should have the immunities of an OX!
10. Sawyer is the world's best cuddler. Sawyer is perfectly happy being held and loved on. He knows that Mommy is always good for a cuddle, and often when I pick him up, he encourages some lovin' by putting his head on my shoulder, patting my back and going "Ahhhhhhh" until his loving gestures are reciprocated.
So, happy 1st birthday little man!! You have been a wonderful addition to the Trezise clan and we cannot wait to see what the next year brings!
