Woodland Lake Park

Monday and Tuesday were Fall Break for Landon, so we decided to take a trip to Woodland Park Lake in Pinetop-Lakeside. There is a pretty good sized lake up there, with a smattering of ducks that reside there when it is warm. There is also this cute playground with several play sets, a fort, and a play house. Our kids had a blast!!

Will brought a loaf of bread so the kids could feed the ducks. This was a first for Avery, and she struggled with the concept. She threw her pieces of bread right by her feet, and then proceeded to yell at the ducks to partake. "Come eat your bread, Duckies!!" These ducks, having obvious survival skills, were not coming anywhere close to this tiny person with stompy feet and shrill commands. Avery didn't seem to mind though, so there were no tears when the ducks chose safety over carbo loading.
After the ducks feasted on all the bread we brought, we headed over to the playground. One the way, Tristan and Avery found a clump of pussy willow fuzz, and had a great time playing in it. They thought is was snow.
Even though the accommodations at the playground were deluxe, we only played for a little while. It was getting chilly, and every Trezise was starting to get hungry. Dad lured the kids to the van with promises of Happy Meals (a rare treat for us) containing (score!!) Bakugon balls (Landon's newest toy obsession) for the boys and a miniature Build-a-Bear for Miss A. Once Avery got her bear though, she wanted a Bakugon ball like the boys.

We had an awesome afternoon spending time as a family. We are so grateful that families are forever!!
