"It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!"

The 1st Day of School!!

Landon is in 1st grade this year, and Mrs. Kuntz is his teacher. His whole kindergarten class was able to move to first grade together, so he knew everyone on the first day. So far, he has decided that 1st grade is not as fun as kindergarten.
"All we do is work and work, and we only get to play for like one minute. I'm not even kidding, Mom." Despite his initial assessment, Landon skips out the door each morning, and comes home each day with a massive smile. He breezes through his homework every afternoon, and chatters non-stop about the ins and outs of 1st grade social life.

Tristan is attending preschool at Flip City Gym n' Learn on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Flip City is a combination of traditional preschool learning and gymnastics. His teacher is a dear friend of mine, Mrs. Margaret. Ms. Tara and Mr. Jared help out. Our T-Bird is painfully shy, so Will and I were quite worried about what his reaction to preschool might be. He has surprised all of us though, and has done great! He was a little sad to learn that he won't be riding the bus, taking a lunch, or going to school every day like Landon. He is fascinated that there are
three bathrooms at his preschool, and he loves the jumpoline (trampoline). I think he is going to have a fantastic year!

If we can get Avery potty trained (fingers crossed), she will be taking part in a preschool co-op on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. She
really wants to attend, but not so much that she is inspired to seal the deal on doing away with her diapers. She has been, by far, my hardest to potty train. Most days, she is accident free. But every three or four days, she tells me she is "not potty training today", and we are wet more than we are dry. My dear Sister, Heather, reminded me that there are very few 16-year-olds trotting to prom in a pull-up, so I just enjoy the times she does feel like making it to the potty, and thank Heavenly Father for Lysol when she doesn't.
