HapPy 8th biRThDaY, LanDOn!!!

Eight years ago today, my very first cubbie was born.  I dreamed about being a mother from the time I was old enough to tote around a doll.  That first amazing day with my tiny, perfect Landon proved to be the first among many, many amazing days.  Eight years have come and gone so quickly.  I still have to look twice at my half-grown boy, because I still expect to see a toddler.  Landon brings fun into our home.  His enormous grin and amazing laugh are contagious.  There is more sunshine in our home when Landon is around.
10 Things About Landon

1. Landon is super smart.  His favorite subject in school has always been math, but this year he has also discovered a love for creative writing.  He furiously writes about super heros and bad guys, ninja fights, his friends, his family and his adventures.  We have really enjoyed seeing the world through Landon's eyes.
2. He pretends he is a picky eater.  When dinner is served, he usually lets us know what he doesn't like, but still manages to choke down amazingly large portions of it.  One thing he consistently does not like: cheese.  Who doesn't like cheese??

3. Landon enjoys finding and collecting rocks.  He picks them up constantly and puts them in his pockets.  I have laundered a decent sized rock pile.
4. Like his Dad, Landon gets up with the sun, and sometimes earlier than that!  He pops out of bed, ready to go.  He is always the first person up, and is learning that he doens't have to wake everyone else up when he gets up.
5. Landon is quite the lady's man.  I have heard from his teacher that several of the girls in his class pine away for his affections.  He is aware of his popularity, but chooses to feign oblivion.6. Landon enjoys climbing things, jumping out of things, throwing things, and smashing things.  In other words, he is a typical boy!  After two broken bones this year, he is learning to be a little more careful with his body as he pursues these activities.
7. Landon has always been a huge helper.  Sawyer adores his "Nana", and Sterling is right at home in his capable arms.

8. Landon has huge aspirations for adulthood.  Among other things, he wants to be a doctor and a lawyer.  Whatever he chooses, we are confident he will be sucessful. The world better watch out for the force that is Landon!
9. Landon is a friend to all, and has an impressive group of friends at church and in school.
He is really looking forward to attending cub scouts so he has an excuse to hang out with his buddies once a week.
10. He loves the gosple and knows as much about it as most adults.  He is ready to be baptized and takes the responsibilty that comes with it very seriously.

So, happy 8th bithday, Landon!  Our family is so blessed that you are a part of it.  You help us all remember to enjoy life, and to laugh a little more.  We know that you will do amazing things because you already are!
