Sawyer Takes Stock

Sawyer is starting to talk really well (obviously, we think he's a genius)  Unfortunatley, I am not very good at documenting his little banterings.  I just HAD to put a few things down for posterity though, so here you have it.
Sawyer knows how to say every one's name in our family, except his own and Baby Sterling's (whom he refers to as Momma's Baby).  Since some people in house leave early in the morning, he likes to take stock on every one's whereabouts throughout the day.
"Where's Dad?"
"Where's Nanny?"
"Where's Titten?"
And to each inquiry, I appropriately answer either work or school.

This daily back and forth line of questioning had been going on for quite a few weeks.  I was driving to pick Avery up from preschool late one morning while Sawyer was yammering away in the backseat.  "Where's Nanny?"  I began to reply that he was at school when Sawyer continued.  "Nana work."  "Where's Titten?"  "Titten work."  "Where's Daddy?" "Daddy scoo (Read school.  Okay, despite my earlier bragging, he's not the greatest linguist...yet.)."  "Ahahahaha." (incredibly fake and sort of maniacal laugh) "I funny!"

Of course, I think he is also a genius for having such a developed sense of humor at such a young age, but I may be slightly biased.

Another incident occurred yesterday morning.  Will was sitting in the rocking chair in our bedroom, holding both Sterling and Avery.  Sawyer, obviously feeling left out, battered his way aboard, perching himself precariously upon the only remaining piece of real estate-the front of the arm rest.  Sterling began fussing, so Will began rocking, throwing Sawyer off balance.  He tried to hold on, but his bum was bigger than his perch, and he was bucked off.  Immediately, he began to cry and came running over to me. I scooped him up and said, "Oh no!  Did you fall and bonk?"  To which he indignantly replied, "No!  Daddy 'frowed' me!"
Oh, and it gets better.  Of course Will stuck up for himself, and said, "Daddy didn't throw you, Sawyer!"  Striving to be ever politically correct, Avery piped up, "Sawyer just said "frowed" because he can't say that you pushed him off, Daddy."

Never, ever a dull moment in the Trezise home, and I love it!
