I tackled one of my most dreaded tasks today-the clothing purge. I detest doing this, and with three kids, this chore gets bigger and more complicated every time I do it. The job today was thankfully only a fraction of the job it usually is. I just had to move out Tristan's 2T stuff and move in the the 3Ts. He has undergone and amazing growth spurt in the last month, and the bottoms of his pants that just recently drug on the ground, now reside well above his ankles. Very uncool. So I braved the cold storage closet outside and hooked the kid up with some properly fitting attire. Sort of. He is still so skinny, he walks out of his pants without the aide of a belt. I am not sure what kind of kid's waist holds up these mondo-wide waist bands, but it isn't my T-Bird. The poor kid looks like a starving Ethiopian. He eats more than any of us, but is very efficient at burning off and then storing his nutrients. Would that that was my problem. Sigh...
Anyway, back to the reason for this post. I was preparing to throw the bag of 3Ts in the wash, and Tristan, excited about his new threads, was supervising the process. While I was sorting through the contents of the bag, he decided to make sure the washer was in proper working order. Apparently, he had to climb inside to do this properly.
This picture got me thinking. How about a washer/tub combo? Throw the kid in-fully clothed, add water and some sort of non-toxic cleaning agent, and clean the whole package all at once. The logistics are still a little fuzzy, but the idea has potential. I'll keep you posted.
