Symbiosis in Action

This was seriously one of the cutest things, ever. Sawyer has been doing his own version of the commando crawl (he pulls himself forward with his arms, while pushing off with one foot--kind of how the Hunchback of Notre Dame might crawl) for several weeks now, and he has gotten pretty fast. My niece, Hailey was eating dinner in the high chair. To signal the end of her meal, she began tossing her pancakes and eggs overboard. Ever the opportunist, Sawyer set off to see if the floor remnants were of interest to him. I was finishing up some pancakes for the other kids in the kitchen, and thought I had a few seconds before Sawyer actually reached the food on the floor. Um, WRONG. That little sucker made his way over before I even had a chance to get butter on my hotcake. His little pinchers were flying to get those pancakes down his gullet before his good fortune came to an end. Hailey just kept tossing things to him, and peering over the edge of the tray to check out the action below. I just had to get a quick picture before I turned into the mean Mom who takes all the fun stuff away. If left to their own devices, Sawyer would have had quite the feast, and all evidence of Hailey's naughtiness would have been removed. Way to work together, cousins!
