Trezise Family Vacation-Day 5

Disney's California Adventure!!

We awoke on our second day at Disney to cloudy, rainy, chilly weather. Will and I weren't sure how the kids would handle the nasty weather, but we bundled everyone up, and headed out. It rained pretty steadily on our walk through Down Town Disney, but by the time we reached California Adventure, it was barely a drizzle. The yucky weather was apparently a deterent for most people because the park was nearly deserted when we arrived, and it stayed that way. The sprinkles continued on and off throughout the day, and it was never warm enough to take off our coats, but it wasn't miserable, and it was nice to walk on EVERY ride. Sawyer was a super trooper in the stroller. As long as he had a bottle close by, he was a happy guy.

Will discovered that Landon and Tristan share in his love of roller coasters, and all three of them rode the Tower of Terror. I was worried when Tristan insisted on riding with Will and Landon, and waited at the entrance to the ride in anticipation. I fully expected him to chicken out, and have to be escorted off the ride, and was prepared with an encouraging speech to abet his disappointment. Then, to my utter astonishment, my three boys confidently strutted off the ride and informed me they had gone not once, but twice! *sniff* My babies are growing up.

Landon and Dad got to ride California Screamin', a roller coaster that goes around a Mickey Mouse shaped head (and thus upside down!!). Tristan was super sad that he wasn't tall enough to ride, and still asks me if he will be tall enough when we go next time.

I rode the spinning lady bugs with the three big kids at the Bug's Life attraction, since Will insisted he would get sick. Will is a wise man. Yuck.

Will rode a giant ferris wheel with Landon, Tristan and Avery while Sawyer and I remained firmly planted on the ground. I hate ferris wheels! They scare the pants off me. This ferris wheel was particularly evil. The seats were enclosed and were attached to kidney bean shaped tracks. As the ride went around, the carts also went around their tracks. I almost had a heart attack watching Will and the kids up there! They, of course, loved it! Disney's California Adventure is not for the faint hearted!!

All in all, we enjoyed another AWESOME day at the Magic Kingdom!
