The Polar Express

For Christmas this year, Will's mom got us tickets to ride the Polar Express in Williams. We had a great time!

We left on Tuesday evening for the Valley. Will had a conference to attend for work the next day, so to save him some drive time, we joined him and stayed with Auntie Heather and Uncle Preston. While he worked, we played. The cousins had a blast together, and I enjoyed not cooking, cleaning, or washing laundry. Will joined us on Wednesday evening, and we left for Williams on Thursday morning. It was a loooong drive. (My sister and BIL live in Pinal County-Will calls it North Tuscon) I had taken a Dramamine (since I don't travel well due to extreme motion sickness while driving) and spent most of the drive in drug induced, sleepy stupor. The kids slept most of the way as well. We awoke about 20 minutes from our destination, so really, it was a loooooong drive for poor Will.
Our hotel had a heated pool, and Will and I thought this would be a great way for the kids to work out some pent up wiggles. Despite the heat, it was too cold for the pampered Trezise fam, and so we "swam" in the hot tub instead.

We were only about a mile away from the train depot, so we headed over a little early to eat and have a visit with Mrs. Claus. Then we loaded up on the train, and headed to the North Pole. In keeping with the spirit of the evening, we all donned our PJs. We ate cookies and drank hot cocoa. Actually the kids drank hot cocoa. We put Avery's cup in a bottle, and she finished it off in record time. She then proceeded to dink both Will and I's cups as well. Who knew she liked hot cocoa so much? They read the Polar Express story over the loud speaker, we sang Christmas carols, and then saw Santa and his helper when we arrived at the North Pole. Santa boarded the train and visited each child and gave them a jingle bell. It was really cute, and my kids were in total awe. The Trezise family gives it 10 thumbs up!
Waiting for the train

Singing, jingle bells, hot cocoa! Ahh, this is the life!

How fun, I was debating on whether or not we should try that. I think for sure next year.
