hApPY BiRThdaY, JaXOn!!!

Children are awesome, but very few are of the caliber of my nephew, Jaxon Robert Ruiz. I know that you may think (unless you know the lad personally) that this may be a biased opinion. It is not. And I offer no apologies for stating the fact in this post. He is basically one of the most awesome kids I have ever met. How he has achieved such awesomeness in just two short years is a mystery; but he has managed to reach a level that few people even hope to reach in a lifetime. (Perhaps it is because he has such an awesome Auntie Tar-wah.)

Today is his birthday, and I have chosen such an occasion to post 10 facts about him. This gives those of you who have not had the pleasure of his acquaintance some insight into this awesome force we affectionately call Baby J.

1. He loves to give snuggles and muah-ses (kisses). As a recipient, you don't walk away, inconspicuously wiping extra moisture from you face. He is very good at what he does.
2. He likes you to "help you", which interpreted means "help me". He throws this phrase around whenever he needs a Big Person to help him accomplish a task. And as a Big Person, you help him. No matter what he is asking for. He is just too darn cute to deny.
3. He was a Moose when he was born, weighing in at 9 lbs 15 ozs! His Momma is not very big, and we were worried that he had grown too large for an exit strategy. But out he came, and then not much more in the growth department since. He has used his time and energy since his birth to be cute and awesome, and not to get much bigger. (His Auntie Tara knows that the reason for his small stature is because "dynamite comes in small packages".)
4. He has a dog named Hendrix. Hendrix is bigger than Jaxon, by a lot. This does not deter him from bossing Hendrix. He whips the pup into shape on a daily basis. If Hendrix barks, Jaxon answers with a "Hush, Drix!" If Hendrix jumps on the backdoor, Jaxon will say "Stop it, Drix." He has this situation under control.
5. He collects "Babies". Babies are toys that you can cuddle with. At any one point, he has at least 5 "babies" of varying shape, size and species tucked into bed with him. They all have names, and he loves each of them. His current favorite is "Sponge Bob Pants" who is bigger than he is.
6. He is fabulous in his car seat and stroller. Auntie Tara has raised three "Car Seat Terrors" and is in awe of the casual manner in which he rides in the car with nary a peep.

7. He is a very tolerant child, unless he is tired. And then, watch out! There is no reasoning with him at this point. Your best bet is to find his Mommy and let her handle him.
8. He likes to throw sand at the park. Most kids do this a time or two, and ten decide it's not a good idea when it lands in their eyes. Eye irritation is not a deterrent to J. He blissfully throws handfuls of the stuff whenever he can get by his mom.
9.Jaxon has a big melon and not much hair on top. We all know that this is for one reason and one reason only. He has a big brain! The big melon houses the large brain and as for the lack of hair-we all know that you can't grow hair and brains at the same time.
10. He has the best smile! It is big, and toothy, and contagious. You cannot have a bad day when you see his grin. It really is like a ray of sunshine.

So Happy Birthday Jaxon! We are crazy about you, and we hope you get lots of "babies" and "carsies" for your birthday!!!
