Outsmarted by the Kiddos

Landon and Tristan devote vast amounts of mental fortitude and energy to stall the bedtime hour each night. Drinks, potty breaks, headaches, tummy aches, sore limbs, monsters, lost hippos-you name it, they have used it as an excuse. Will and I have grown wise to their plotting, and have developed an efficient bedtime routine that is nearly stall proof. Thwarted in their solo attempts, they have recently begun "Buck-a-roo Brother Powwow Sessions" (unbeknownst to Will and I) on the floor of their bedroom, playing very quietly so as not to alert the parental units.
When we put them to bed on Saturday night we were met with minimal resistance. Will and I congratulated ourselves on our awesome parenting strategies (high fives, waggly eyebrows and such) and rewarded ourselves with a movie. Upon conclusion of the movie, I went in to check on the little schemers and found this....

It might appear to some that they were sweetly sleeping alongside one another. Wrong.
Worn out by the evening's powwow session, they succumbed to sleep in the middle of the floor, next to Landon's bed. I was later informed (by Tristan, who has not yet learned to maintain powwow confidentiality) that they were playing house with Hippo and Dinosaur Jones, and this was the man cave that they were constructing.
Ah, foiled once more by the young Trezises! Curses! I guess Will and I must modify our inadequate bedtime plan...again.
